Took some pictures using a new polarizing filter I got the other day. It's really amazing when it comes to cutting glare from glass or reflective surfaces- particularly car windows. Due to the dark tint of the lens, it seems like it's throwing off the metering, so if you leave the filter on when taking pictures in bright light, it tends to overcompensate and overexposes it. I have to just leave the UV filter on in regular conditions. The polarizer definitely brightens the blue in the sky.

Gearing up!

I have been getting stuff together for my trip in May, and so far I have accumulated quite a good amount of gear. Besides the basics, like my bed tent, sleeping bag, and GPS and bike, I bought some camping equipment last night. Bought a lantern, some propane cans, a twin bed air mattress with pump, and some emergency equipment.
I also booked some campsites-one in Alexandria Louisiana- for my outbound trip, and then one for Fruita Colorado. I booked the James M. Robb campground (Colorado River National Park CG). I think I will leave Moab open so I can drive and pick the best CG, same for Red Canyon. I plan on booking Wahweap in Page sometime in the next couple weeks also. Probably should book Amarillo TX as well as the returns.
I'm committed now!

Rode at Alafia the other day. A buddy of mine plotted out the ride on a really cool GPS handheld he had. You can see a profile of the elevation changes and an overhead view of the route. We hit Roller Coaster, North Creek, Bridges, and Sand Pine. Total of 9 miles. My legs were on FIRE.
