DAY FOUR: SEDONA, AZ., RIDE AT BELL ROCK

After a fairly restless sleep the first night in the tent, we ventured out to the Bell Rock Pathway in order to get a feel for some of the trails. My girlfriend has never ridden in a higher altitude location (Sedona sits around 5000 feet), and some of the climbs might prove to be challenging for her. I figured the Bell Rock Pathway was a good starter trail, and the scenery is just straight-up Sedona.
We parked over at the Absolute Bikes parking lot, and did a short pedal uphill to the trailhead.
We did about 5 miles, and then headed back to the truck. Charmaine was surprised that she didn't have too many issues with breathing, partly thanks to the lack of humidity. The weather was hovering in the mid to upper 80's, and it didn't feel too bad at all.
We checked out Back O' Beyond Road, and made it to a trailhead that supposedly hooked up with the Templeton Trail near Cathedral Rock. We took one look at this technical uphill trail, and decided against it after going barely 1/3 of a mile up the trail. We would have to find a better route; this was definitely beyond our biking ability.
We headed back to camp, then went out for a nice walk along Oak Creek Canyon. It was still very early, and I noticed the sun doesn't set around here until around 8:45pm.
We took another sunset drive into the city, and took more pictures, and explored a bit. Sedona truly is a really beautiful place.
